Jim Whelan is taking the lead role in Asset Management for Harbour Retail Partners as HRP continues to expand its portfolio.
Principal Jim Cheney says “We are delighted to have Jim join the team as Director of Asset Management. He has a diversified background in property management, leasing, acquisition, and dispositions; allowing us to be more efficient and effective in driving value from our growing asset base.
Jim comes to Harbour Retail after more than 7 years with BC Wood Properties, a private firm focused in the Southeast with more than 5 million SF of retail assets. In his tenure there, he held various titles such as Property Manager, Asset Manager, and most recently Director of Acquisitions. He played an integral role in growing the company’s portfolio from 2.4 million SF to over 5 million SF.
A native of Maryland, Jim moved to Kentucky to attend Transylvania University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Management. He went on to earn his Principle Broker’s license in 2015 and his CCIM designation in 2017.
